Song of Prophecy 12: Hero’s Life

Life is simple: Survive each day…until you don’t

Lily Fisher, formerly the assassin called Phoenixarrow, has always danced on the line between life and death. Even more so since she joined the ranks of the heroes fighting the hordes of animaru for the survival of Dizhelim.

But in a time when monsters are trying to destroy all life in the world, what does it even mean to live? Her experiences have given her a unique perspective on the answer.

Charged with retrieving her uncle’s personal items in another city before he dies, Lily and her companions return to the great city of Satta Sarak, where she first met them as an assassin sent to kill them. They barely obtain the mementos they seek when Osulin, the Goddess of Nature, warns them of a crisis, one that could have disastrous effects if not checked.

The Cradle of Life is corrupted.

Now the group must traverse an ocean that has been uncrossable for millennia, only to search for an ancient location none of them know. Along the way, Lily needs to reconcile her own views on life. Hers, her uncle’s, her friends’, and the world’s. Their success depends on it.

It seems that the world’s survival is in the hands of a few dauntless heroes. Again. If they can’t purge the corruption, it could be the beginning of the end for countless lives.

Sometimes, existence itself is complicated.
